"Compassion is not a relationship between the healer and the wounded. It’s a relationship between equals. Only when we know our own darkness well can we be present with the darkness of others. Compassion becomes real when we recognize our shared humanity."
-Pema Chodron
Therapy
I specialize in helping people enhance their quality of life. Whether you are going through a life transition, living with illness, experiencing the loss of someone or in the role of a caregiver or healthcare professional, navigating life stressors can be overwhelming, isolating, and even debilitating. If you are reading this you are considering, or have decided, you don't want to face these issues alone; and you don't have to. My approach to therapy is to create a safe and welcoming space to identify, process, grow and heal from the life stressors you are experiencing. Collaboratively we can explore your strengths, goals, worries and hopes.
My practice is a strengths-based collaborative approach using elements of internal family systems (IFS), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and acceptance commitment therapy (ACT) with a mindfulness foundation. I am also EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) trained. I use a trauma-informed and humanistic lens with my clients acknowledging everyone has a unique story and deserves a space to be seen and heard.
As a social worker, social justice is at the core of my training. I am an ally to people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and/or gender expansive, queer and/or questioning, intersex, asexual, two-spirit, and the countless affirmative ways in which people choose to self-identify (LGBTQIA2S+) and Black, indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC). LGBTQIA2S+ friendly therapist. There are various ways someone can experience life stressors or changes, especially if those stressors are related to illness or death and dying. I am honored you are considering working with me and hope together we can explore new ways for you to feel steady and grounded.

Notice to prospective clients

Under the law, health care providers need to give clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.
You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service, or at any time during treatment.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, or how to dispute a bill, see your Estimate, or visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

CSWA Supervision
Congratulations on your interest in furthering your clinical licensing as a social worker. Working towards your LCSW can be a very rewarding and meaningful experience for social workers pursuing that career path. My approach to clinical supervision is more of a collaboration amongst colleagues. I don't claim to be an expert and prefer a more curious approach that supports us learning together. My goal is to incorporate my decade of experience in social work to empower you to grow your clinical skills. While I incorporate some structure into supervision, I also try to leave space for organic discussion on relevant topics that come up.
If interested in talking more about if we are a good fit feel free to reach out. I look forward to connecting with you.
